Guideline 1:  Employees Disqualified from Council Membership  24 KB
These guidelines are no longer applicable. They were effective from 23 December 2011 up to the declaration of election results on 2 April 2012. Section 37 of the Local Government Act provides that an employee is disqualified from being a member of the same council. Section 110 of the Local Government Act provides for resignation of an employee to contest an election.
