Shire Councils



The new Shires came into effect on 1 July, 2008 with new Chief Executive Officers and Shire Managers. Find out more (pdf 180Kb) about the roles and responsibilities of the new shires and their staff.

A Shire Council Committee (SCC) is a temporary advisory body that will work in partnership with Shire Managers as they conduct Council business in the run-up to the elections in October 2008. Find out more about Shire Committee Councils (pdf 195Kb).
